It's still a little warm here for December.......I guess Smarty needed to chill a little before wrapping all of the gifts. Good thing he brought some instant snow with him since there is none on the ground outside! Hope you are getting all of your gifts wrapped up!
"Hey Eddie, Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere, leave you for dead?" Despite the unwanted guests, Smarty is doing everything he can to make this the Hap, Hap Happiest Christmas Ever! Let's just hope there is not a squirrel in the tree!
p.s. This is my daughter's favorite toy of all time.....she's older now but when she was little she used to take this dinosaur EVERYWHERE with her. We even had to give it multiple baths. Seeing Smarty with her dinosaur makes me a little teary eyed. I really miss when my kids were little and wish I could go back for just a few hours and really enjoy those moments.
I love Buddy the Elf. When I first watched the movie I didn't have kids and thought it was kind of silly. Now that I have kids, I think the movie is hysterical. I love how Will Ferrell is able to portray Buddy as a complete child. The movie really makes you feel the wonder of the season.
Now get on with your internet searching and shopping you cotton-headed ninny muggins...........
After all of that Christmas Shopping yesterday, Smarty needs to make a quick buck in order to purchase the last few Christmas presents for his Noth Pole family. Good thing he LOVES Elvis and can really rock out to all of the Elvis Christmas tunes! Hope that he receives lots of tips for his efforts.
Looks like Smarty has been doing a little bit of Christmas shopping for his friends at the North Pole. I hope he did not bring home any new pets. Santa already has his hands full taking care of all of those reindeer....
I don't know if you've heard of the sled dog, Balto, but he is a hero in our household. My little girl has been in love with Balto for many years. We have visited the REAL Balto at the Cleveland Natural History Museum and read many books about his journey. Smarty likes Balto too and had a great time tonight practicing for the Elfitarod.
I LOVE this idea! Throughout the summer so many people participated in the ice bucket challenge for ALS and it was really great to see all of the videos in my Facebook feed. Here are the rules from #busykidshappymom:
1. Get your Elf into the challenge. Take his picture and share it on Facebook or Twitter and tag it with #elfbucketchallenge and #ToysforTots
2. Donate to your favorite charity or Toys for Tots. Any donation counts.
3. Spread the word. Tag other friends and other elves. Share how you’re giving back. Follow hashtags: #elfbucketchallenge, #ToysforTots, #busykidshappymom
4. Toy Clean Out– Donate your gently used toys, books, and clothes. Get your kids to participate. This is the best time of year to clear out and donate to a local hospital, school, or charity.
5. Encourage Your Kids to Give. Share, smile, love, laugh, and be kind!
Nothing makes me feel better than giving back to others. It's as easy as cleaning out your closets and taking the items to your church or school. Have some spare change in your car or the bottom of your bag? Dump it in one of the red salvation army buckets on your way into the grocery. Did your child receive a birthday gift this year that never quite got opened? Place it into one of the Toys for Tots bins in your neighborhood. Together we can do so many good things this Holiday season!
After a few days off for Thanksgiving break, the kids are heading back to school today. Smarty thought he would help out by making breakfast. Silly Smarty, I don't think the teachers will like it if we feed the kids chocolate before they head off to school in the morning..........
We are HUGE sports fans at our house. After another abysmal loss by our favorite black and gold football team, everyone was bummed. Smarty, however, always looks on the bright side of things. He reminded us today that Spring Training is right around the corner. He even brought his nutcracker friend to come and spread some baseball cheer!
